Adventures in contact lenses

Let me tell you a little story about my adventures in contact lenses. I hope this gets found by other people who can't get the hang of the damn things. My advice to you is keep trying. I have made lots of progress. Just be careful. Of course when I will keep updating the story while it happens.

Trips to eye doctor for contacts: 4

Times cried of sadness: 1

Times cried of happiness: 1

Eye infections: 1

Trip #1: Could not get contacts anywhere near my eyes. Cried

Trip #2: Got contacts a little closer. Still not in eyes, but closer.

Trip #3: Got contacts in! Cried of happiness. Couldn't get them out. Had technician do it, hurt like hell.

Trip #4: Got contacts in and out 2x. They still didn't feel comfortable with me bringing them home. Made appointment to come back tomorrow as I am so close I must come back asap so I can do it again and bring them home finally! Leave dr's office with a very painful irritated eye.

As of right now, I am almost positive I have contracted pink eye in my right eye. I have had this 2 times in my past, and while I remember it being more itchy and runny then, this is just irritating enough and it feels about right. Took nap, and woke up with big white eye crusties. *Livid*

How did this happen? I was under supervision of the eye technicians. She washed her hands before touching my contacts. I washed them too. Could it have been the 10 times I dropped contact on tissue box or floor? I cleaned them off thoroughly before putting them in my eye and had no weird looks from the technicians. I am famous for having horrible luck in my life. In almost every situation, the worst or almost worst possible scenario actually happens to me. I don't mean that in a pity-me kind of way, it is a fact and I have learned to live with it. Everyone can wear contacts, why can't I? It's possible I am a freak of nature, and this was a sign that I should really not bother putting objects in my eyes...but I got so close! Should I give up now? Well, when I go back for my appointment tomorrow and they tell me I have an infection from the contact, they may recommend I not try anymore. That is just not going to happen. I got too close.

Is this just life mocking me because of how much I love pink?
